Vision Statement
Our vision is of a world in which adults and children with disabilities are able to maximise their quality of life through social and travel opportunities.
Mission Statement
To make it possible for adults and children with disabilities, severely ill or significantly dependent to travel in specially designed vehicles, based on a coach and ambulance configuration and known as 'JUMBULANCES'
Core Values
- We believe that people with disabilities should not be confined to their home, hospice or hospital environment nor excluded from social and travel opportunities because of their disabilities.
- We believe that travel allows people with disabilities to reconnect with society; that it is an integral part of their rehabilitation and an enhancement of their quality of life.
- We believe in the benefits of providing a first class, specialist means of travel and a safe and caring environment for people with disabilities.
- We believe in tailoring our services and destinations to the needs and preferences of those with disabilities.
- We believe in equality of opportunity and access for all people regardless of race, religion or gender.
The Jumbulance Trust is a registered charity (no.
1090731).
The
Trust was launched in December 2001 under the title New Jumbulance Travel Trust, and obtained charitable status
on 20th February 2002. It is a non-profit making organisation
dedicated to making travel possible for disabled and sick adults and
children.
Jumbulances are purpose-built coach/ambulances specifically designed to
enable the sick, disabled and handicapped to travel in safety and
comfort, with easy access by platform lift, stretcher trolley
beds, reclining seats, large disabled washroom/w.c., ample storage for
wheelchairs and luggage, facilities for making hot drinks and light
snacks on board and full air conditioning.

The Trust has a fleet of
3, one of which is more appropriate for day outings with provision for securing wheelchairs as well as stretcher beds to tracking in the floor and a team of drivers all of whom are experienced in caring for the
special needs of those who travel by Jumbulance. We cater for Groups of
up to 24, normally 10 disabled and 14 carers who wish to travel together
on holiday or for a day outing and we can suggest many places of
interest and appeal as venues both in the UK and throughout Europe, all of which have appropriate specialist facilities.
The Trust's services are currently marketed to, and taken up by:-
- Local organisations for people with disabilities
- Care homes for the elderly
- Care homes for children
- Special schools for children with disabilities
- Sports clubs for their disabled supporters
- Sports associations for the disabled
- Hospitals, area health authorities and ambulance services
