Hire a Jumbulance

The Trust has 2 Standard Jumbulances and one slightly smaller one. Each is a luxury coach/ambulance which offers facilities that make travel possible for those who need extra care and specialst facilities up to a maximum of 24 excluding the drivers.

We employ friendly, caring and experienced drivers who understand the needs of the disabled and sick.

The Standard Jumbulances are primarily suitable for long distance travel throughout Europe, often driving throughout the night, but are also available for use in the UK where their more comprehensive facilities would be advantageous.

The smaller Jumbulance known as the Midi is mostly used for day outings both in the UK and to the Northern parts of France but also for holidays in the UK where requirements are less demanding. But if there is much to carry by way of luggage or wheelchairs we have an excellent and spacious trailer.

The Standard Jumbulances are equipped with:

• 8 stretcher beds, 4 of which are removable trolley beds, with adjustable backrest and knee support
• 16 reclining seats
• large disabled persons washroom and toilet
• kitchenette for hot drinks and small meals
• medical supplies with oxygen, resuscitators and suction units
• large lift for ease of access
• PA system
• Storage capacity sufficient for luggage and wheelchairs
• Full air-conditioning

The Midi Jumbulance is equipped for:

• Either
  i) 2 stretcher beds and 6 wheelchairs clamped to the floor or
  ii) 7 wheelchairs clamped to the floor:
  iii) plus a maximum of 19 seated passengers
• large lift for ease of access
• drink making facilities and fridge
• toilet
• medical supplies with oxygen
• full air-conditioning
• flexibility of configuration internally
  

COSTS FOR 2008

The Standard Jumbulance with 2 drivers
Daily Rate £795 plus £30 per day fuel surcharge

The Midi Jumbulance with 1 driver
Daily Rate £575 plus £30 per day fuel surcharge for holidays of 3 days or more

Additional Costs
Travel Insurance currently £35 per person for up to 10 days overseas travel which we recommend for the disabled but optional for others
Ferry Cost Dover/Calais currently £300 return

Ferry Hull/Rotterdam overnight crossing cost quoted individually

Terms for hiring a Standard Jumbulance
£500 payable upon booking
£1500 deposit payable in January or 4 months before departure if booked after April
Balance payable 8 weeks before departure

Terms for hiring Midi Jumbulance
£50 payable upon booking
£150 deposit payable in January or 4 months before departure if booked after April
Balance payable 8 weeks before departure.
