Gillian Berry (Chairman) With over 20 years experience in marketing and communications, business planning and business development, Gill has worked in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical and chemical sectors. Following retirement in 2016, she helped the Jumbulance Trust during the year and became a trustee in October 2017. ” I look forward to a strong future for the Jumbulance Trust and in contributing further further to our goal of helping more people have their trip of a lifetime.
Richard Burn (Vice Chairman) Richard originally hails from Alnwick, Northumberland, but now lives near Ampthill in Bedfordshire. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1978 and worked in private practice throughout his career. Richard and his wife Gill ran their own Solicitor’s practice from their home in Hertfordshire for almost 25 years before both retiring in 2016. Richard has three grown-up children and one granddaughter. He is a very keen photographer with a Licentiate-ship from the Royal Photographic Society and, with his new found freedom in retirement, is keen to travel after being desk-bound for many years. Richard became a Trustee in early 2017 and is looking forward to volunteering on Jumbulance trips.
Qualified as an ENT Surgeon in 1968 and went on to work in Royal National ENT Hospital, Kings College Hospital and Epsom General Hospital until her retirement in 2007. She is divisional surgeon for St John Ambulance Brigade, Chairman and Co-founder of medical Aid for Poland Fund and a Deputy Lieutenant for Greater London. Bozena joined the board of Trustees in 2004 having travelled 70 times with the Jumbulances since 1974 as a group organiser.
Richard joined the board of trustees in 2015 and has helped to organise several ski trips and young person’s holidays over the last few years. He has travelled with The Jumbulance around 25 times since 1988. Richard runs an IT Consultancy business and is married with 2 teenage children, and spends his spare time publicising and finding new opportunities for the Jumbulance Trust and recruiting volunteers
Carys Jones Carys works as a nurse at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. Husband David and Carys are both keen skiers, volunteering their spare time as adapted skier instructors at various artificial slopes in the UK. Carys has travelled with the Jumbulance Ski Group and also on the Young Adult Respite Holiday. Carys brings additional medical expertise and experience and was welcomed to Board of Trustees in May 2018.
